Questions
What is a kit?
A complete system in one zip: a dashboard that opens in your browser, data files, instructions and skills for your AI. You unzip it, open Claude in that folder, and Claude sets it up by asking a few short questions. After that you just talk to it, for example "Just spent €46 at the supermarket."
What do I need?
The AI the kit runs on, usually the Claude desktop app. Every kit page lists what you need before you buy: which AI and plan, any other software, and what is free or paid.
How do I install a kit?
Unzip it into a folder, open the Claude desktop app with that folder, and type one sentence: "Read Ownkit/START.md and follow it." Each kit page has a copy button for that sentence. Interrupted? Type "continue".
Where is my data?
Your files and the dashboard stay in the folder on your own computer. When you talk to Claude, that conversation goes through your own Claude account, under Anthropic's terms and your privacy settings there. Ownkit only delivers the zip and never sees what you put in your kit. More in what stays on your computer.
Is it a subscription?
No. You pay once per kit and the files are yours. Some kits need a paid plan of the AI they run on; the kit page says so.
Why do I need an account, even for free kits?
Your account keeps every kit you got in one place, so you can download it again any time from Your kits. One account works for buying and, if you like, for selling.
How do I pay?
By card or another method shown at checkout, once. Prices include VAT. You download the kit right after paying.
Is a kit safe to open?
We check every kit before it goes live: no program files, no hidden instructions, nothing that sends your data somewhere. Kits are plain files you can read yourself. The kits by Northfold, Halden, Wrenhouse and Saltmark never ask for passwords and tell Claude never to send, pay or delete anything.
Can I change a kit?
Yes. It is your folder. Ask Claude to add a category, change a setting or rename something, and it updates the files and the dashboard.
Does it work with ChatGPT or Gemini?
Each kit lists the AI it runs on. The kits on Ownkit today are built for the Claude desktop app. Makers who build for other AIs say so on their kit page.
Can I sell my own system?
Yes. Open a shop with the same account, upload your zip and pick a price. Our prep prompt gets your system into the right format. See For makers.
