Seller terms
These terms apply when you open a shop and list kits on Ownkit. You accept them each time you submit a kit.
1. Your account and shop
- You sell with the same Ownkit account you buy with. One shop per account.
- Keep your account details correct. We send payouts and messages to the email address of your account.
2. What you may sell
- Kits you made yourself, or have the right to sell.
- No personal data of other people, no passwords, keys or client data, no hidden links and nothing that sends a buyer's data anywhere without telling them.
- Describe honestly what the kit does and what a buyer needs to run it, including which systems are paid. No claims you cannot back up.
3. Review
We review every kit before it goes live and every update before it replaces the live version. We may ask for changes or decline a kit, and we may take a kit offline if it breaks these terms.
4. Prices
You choose the price of each kit from these tiers: Free, €2.99, €4.99, €8.99, €12.99 or €19.99. Prices are shown to buyers including VAT. Ownkit handles the checkout.
5. Your share: Standard or Featured
You choose a plan per kit when you submit it. You can switch plans later; the new plan applies to sales after the switch.
| Plan | You keep | Placement |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | 80% of the price excluding VAT | Listed in the shop, search and your shop page |
| Featured | 70% of the price excluding VAT | The same, and shown before Standard kits in Popular on the home page |
Example: a kit priced €8.99 including 21% VAT is €7.43 excluding VAT. On Standard you get €5.94 per sale, on Featured €5.20. Free kits earn nothing on either plan.
Featured changes the order in Popular; it does not promise a number of views or sales.
6. Payouts
Your balance is paid out once a month, as soon as it is €25 or more. Payouts start when paid checkout on Ownkit is live.
7. Who owns what
- Your kit stays yours. You give Ownkit the non-exclusive right to show, describe and sell it on Ownkit and in Ownkit's own marketing.
- Buyers get a personal licence to use the kit. They may not resell or share it.
- You can take a kit offline at any time. Buyers who already have it keep access to their copy.
- Data, code or images from third parties inside a kit, such as an open data set or a library, keep their own licence. The buyer's personal licence above does not limit what that licence allows. Name each such licence in the kit and include its text where the licence asks for it.
8. Refunds
Kits are digital. Buyers agree before paying that their right of withdrawal ends once they download. If a kit clearly does not work as described, we may refund the buyer; your share of that sale is then deducted from your balance.
9. Shops run by Ownkit
Some shops on Ownkit, such as Northfold and Halden, are run by the Ownkit team. They follow the same rules and the same review as every other shop.
10. Changes
If we change these terms, we show the new version here with a new date. A change applies to kits you submit or update after that date.
